This is a blog about current events, anarchism, history, and other related issues. It has taken several different forms over the last 20+ years. In its early years it was more of a homepage laying out my thoughts on anarchism and related issues. It then shifted towards more of a proper blog for a time, focusing various Bush-era issues (hence all the older posts rants about Iraq & whatnot). It has continued to change over time, with my interest in blogging repeatedly waxing & waning and with hosting providers going in and out of existence.
Like many anti-capitalists of my generation (and younger), I was initially radicalized by reading stuff on the internet. I then became involved in the new global justice movement, and later the anti-war movement. After the anti-war movement collapsed I eventually drifted back towards activism focused on class struggle and economic inequality, including labor organizing. I’ve been an IWW member for over a decade at this point, although my level of involvement has varied considerably. Since ~ late 2015 I’ve grown increasingly critical of wokeness and identity politics more broadly. Woke culture is dysfunctional, while identity politics is used by politicians and corporations to manipulate us.
I tend to write more about the U.S. because that’s where I live, not because it’s more important.
